funny how a few melodic lines jarr your head into reminiscing the most painful fragments of time you've lived. how thoughts determine your mood, and how... despite the fact that your life is near perfect, you still find yourself wishing for an early respite from life.
ask me why i'm sad and i won't be able to give you a coherent, logical, sensible answer.
you don't need a reason to be sad. just as you have no need for an excuse to be happy.
you just ARE.
and i AM.
right now.
oh dear... somebody help me get over this.
*Time Started: 7:28 p.m.*what's playing? : Snow Patrol's "Chocolate", Norah Jones' "What Am I to You", Blue Merle's "Burning In the Sun", U2's "Sometimes You Can't Make It on Your Own", Jack Johnson's "Sitting, Waiting, Wishing", The Mavericks' "I Want to Know," Joss Stone's "Right to Be Wrong" *Feeling: Tired, Sated, and a bit too feministic *Things that inspired me to write: shopping with mom, the dark skies, the offending terminology used by a feminine wash, and my little sister talia
what an eye opening day.
today, i had a chance to hang out with 2 people i could barely stand before: my everdearest mutti, and darling talia. i must say that i nearly declined the opportunity to do so, but the call of the mall was too strong to resist.
we dropped off my elder sister cheska at UP this morning because she had to do some stuff connected to RVC. i tried looking for chelly at the sunken garden but seems like her training ended early. my mom then treated talia and i to lunch in podium, a meal primarily composed of teriyaki dishes. what ensued after was nothing short of bliss.
talia, mom, and i went around and shopped for summer clothes. they bought frilly skirts and tops, while i settled for a simple denim puruntong. it was uber fun, playing queer eye for the straight gals, telling my mum to suck it all in as we tried to fit an extra small yellow sun skirt around her cute little belly (and it DID fit!), telling talia that the pink halter top was way kewler than the lime green shirt disaster. haha... never knew i could enjoy shopping with the 2 bossiest, and weirdest people in my life. yeah... fun fun fun.
so talia ended up buying an uvvver nice pink and plaid skirt and halter in Gingersnaps, and mom purchased a yellow floral A-line skirt and white wrap shirt in Kamiseta. me? yeah, denim puruntong from Kami. can't believe small lang ang size ko dun. OH WELL... american sizes naman kasi sila. mwahahaha...
talia and i then hung out at figaro's in brickroad while mum got her hair cut and coloring at james cooper. my sister and i bonded over senseless stuff like taking feektures, and guessing why everybody was staring at us like we were jackasses from wackoville.
haay...
i love this.
:)
grabe... nagiging sobrang corny ko nang tao.
was uber outraged by the way, when i read the directions behind a bottle of pH balance. they didn't mention the word VAGINA even once. not once. not ever.
what the heck is wrong with printing the word VAGINA?! and wuh the hell is wrong with displaying your napkin in public?! men love showing off their condoms, so why should women be ashamed of carrying whisper, modess, or carefree under the scrutiny of others?
SUBRA!
patriarchal society my ass.
mwahahaha...
feeling a BIT too 'feministic'.
~*~
i saw:
1. edu manzano, who totally looks like monsieur PPA/Kaching-Kaching... erm... older version.
2. somebody who looks like my seven year itch. yeah... kamusta na kaya un?
3. ate erica... yeah, nice tan girl! :D
4. chelly who was with...
5. eizel.. who has BANGS! woohoo! go eizie, you gorgeous little booty! :))
we stayed at celine's pad til 4 pm, at which time her ubberr [[hott]] brother came with their family driver. we left around 4:30 because kuya anton suffered a sudden impulse of 'queer eye for the straight girl' syndrome, and demanded that twinstar change her top and wear a poncho.
we arrived at eastwood at 5 pm, went straight to tokyo tokyo for some grub, and started chatting about life, reality, and fun crap. and then someone came along and made me smile! friend surprised me by being there. ehehe... i told her not to go anymore because of the weather and transportation difficulties, but she still came, and that made me uber duper happee.
we then proceeded to powerstation to murder the karaoke machine... and after a healthy round of songs (tasia and i got a 100 when we sang uptown girl. yeah, tandem to beat! mwahahaha; cams, kat, and jackie joined us at that point), went to OJ's, ang kanlungan ng mga disturbed adolescents.
grabe... never knew my friends had so many stuff bothering them, family, love, and equally redundant and frustrating crap. pero it was nice to be able to talk to them about something serious and real. sabi nga ni myky, hindi kailangang palaging masaya.
woohoo... looks like we're all maturing, growing older, getting a bit more normal with each passing moment, each passing day.
friend was uber sweet, she told me she'd wait at starbucks so that my kada and i could be alone for a while. we finished our 'session' around 8:00, and i picked her up. we watched Wedding Date after that. panalo talaga ung linyang: 'i'd rather be fighting with you than making love with anyone else.' woohoo... familiar line ah.
so there...
short lived paradise.
but twas well worth it.
crap.
i'm writing such crappy entries.
haven't been myself for quite a while now...
~*~
demmit.
is it hot or what?
~*~
to escape the wrath of haring araw, my mutti, ate cheska, and i went to megamall yesterday. we dropped my little sister talia at her best friend's pad in palmera, and tried to avoid the authorities (color coding sucks so much) as best as we could.
i finally opened up to my mom about my college plans. i'd been thinking about it for quite a while, ever since my ate gave me a copy of the UP app form.
i want(ed?) to apply in AC and UST too (besides lasalle, ateneo, and up) because they have an amazing curriculum for marketing and advertising courses.
needless to say, she nearly ripped my head off. (or should i say heart?) she verbally (oh, the best way she knows how) attacked my character, shouting for the whole figaro house to hear, that i only wanted to apply in UST and AC not because i actually WAS serious about wanting to go there, but because i wanted to feel the glory of passing a lot of schools.
how effin convoluted is that?!
i mean... REALLY?
who the hell would think of something so effin diabolical?
...siya. duh.
so life lesson number 1, 795, 395 (right after life lesson number 1, 795, 394: do not go caving during your second day of menstruation) learned: do not tell your mother about your plans for the future.
if you don't want to cry right after, that is.
~*~
acck.
i hate this house, 'home', prison, whatever.
i wonder if i could run away tomorrow... won't come home after my gimmick with my barkada.
that sounds pathetic. even to me.
haaay...
i'm excited, nontheless... about the things tomorrow shall bring.
~*~
...was browsing through the net, stumbled on a lot of college websites...
i thought it'd be easier to choose a course once i know the whole lot of 'em, with the explanations and crap.
HOW WAS I SUPPOSED TO KNOW IT'D ACTUALLY BE A BIT HARDER?!
so now i just have to narrow down my choices of 500 million down to 2 or 3.
1. University of the Philippines
Diliman

b. BS Psychology
Manila
a. Biology
b. Public Health
>>site didn't expound on the courses... i guess i have to go to up to get the brochure or something... SIGH.
2. Ateneo de Manila University
a. BS Communications Technology Management
The ComTech Program is an interdisciplinary program that incorporates courses from the fields of mass communication, computer science, and telecommunications into the business curriculum to create managers who are conversant with the creative processes as well as the technological tools that are an integral part of the modern-day communication process. Students enrolled in this program will be exposed to the communications theories and to the technology that is driving today’s information society.
ComTech is especially designed to increase the pool of trained managers for the country’s burgeoning communications industry and is an excellent preparation for careers in marketing, advertising, public relations, media management, and the management of telecommunications firm.
b. BS Legal Management
The Legal Management Program is designed to create managers with a working knowledge of the legal environment within which all enterprises must operate. On top of the regular business curriculum is added a law-curriculum that will cover all major components of law encountered in business, such as: obligations and contracts, taxation, labor laws, laws on business organization.
Although not primarily designed to be a preparation for law school, it has also proven to be an excellent preparation for formal law studies.
Students enrolled in the Legal Management Program also have the option to complete minor programs in Marketing, Finance, International Business, Information Technology, Strategic Human Resources Management and Decision Science.
c. BS Management
The Management program of the Ateneo is designed to develop in our students the sort of entrepreneurial eye and attitude that will help them to see opportunities where others might see problems, to innovate where others might be contented to simply keep things the same, to say "I will do it" where others might say "I wish someone would do this".
To achieve this, the major curriculum of the program is heavily project-oriented, with an emphasis on experiential and hands-on learning, rather than just classroom based and textbook learning. The centerpiece of the program is a culminating (and integrating) project where students are organized into groups of five or six in senior year and asked to actually run a microbusiness for the entire year. Upon graduation, it is our intention that our students should have the requisite skills in the various business disciplines necessary to efficiently and effectively manage an organization. More importantly, they should have the sort of entrepreneurial attitude and outlook that will help them to be effective change agents, innovators and leaders, whether as founders if their own business ventures, or as managers in the largest multinational corporations.
The Honors program in Management has the same educational objectives as the Standard program, but it is a more rigorous targeted at the top 10 percent of all entering students. it will cover essentially the same disciplines as the Standard program, but in greater depth and breadth. Students who have successfully completed the program often find that the discipline, resourcefulness and creativity that they develop in working to meet the program requirements, and the constant drive to achieve their best possible output in all that they do, are the most important things they take with them upon graduation.
Students enrolled in either of these two programs also have the option to complete an area if minor concentration. The School of Management presently offers minors in Marketing, Finance, International Business, Information Technology, Strategic Human Resources Management and Decision Science.
d. BS Psychology
The BS program functions as a training ground for students who want to combine their interests in human behavior and the natural sciences, such as biology, zoology, physics, chemistry, and environmental science. The program may serve as preparation for further studies in medicine.

the clock of the bell tower person's 2 minutes early. the
huge bell is already ringing in the 18th hour of the day.
2 minutes pa mga bro, hinay lang. ehehe...
woah. such a tiring day. my butt and legs are so freakin
sore...
my family and i went trekking and caving today in sagada,
a small town located around 42 kilometers from Banaue,
high above the Sierra Madre. This place is so high up, it
feels as if i can touch the stratosphere. ...or not...
hehe... labo.
arghh... my tummy's rumbling. which is kinda funny coz i'm
not really hungry. we had lunch at this place called the
Yoghurt House, THE food joint here in Sagada. The food was
great (our house tea contained a surprise ingredient: BABY
COCKROACHES! oh yeah... and they found their way into my
tea cup), and the ambience was funky, there were a lot of
black and white photos displayed, taken by the renowned
pinoy photographer Tommy Haffala. there were a lot of
foreigners hanging around too. (funny how it seems as if
more foreigners know about sagada than pinoys.)
BUT BEFORE WE TASTED THAT BIT OF HEAVEN...
we left our room around eight o'clock in the morning, had
a filling breakfast at St. Joe's (their breakfast menu's
definitely superior over their regular menu. i had
pancakes with butter and strawberry mulberry syrup, and
florida's orange juice. YUM.), and set off for the
municipal hall. tourists have to register to get a tour
guide, which in turn is required to get inside the cave.
no liscenced tour guide, no entry.
hmm... i heard something about shady bunches of people
going in the cave and wreaking havoc, reason for the birth
of this system, but i'm not quite sure. there were also a
lot of nationalistic posters all over the municipal hall,
encouraging people to report suspicious looking
individuals lurking about. i guess uso ang NPA dito,
SCARY.
we met our tour guide, Mr. Peter, after that. weird... i
thought locals here would have indigenous sounding names
like: Maarkumsalam, or Pokopapalopapo... so far, our tour
guides have been Mister Johnny, and Mister Peter, american
sounding names... hrmm...
we WALKED (oh, the operative word) to the cave, a MEASELY
45 minute trek along rough roads, and a few areas with
smooth pavements. the view on our way to the cave reminded
me of this movie i watched back when i was in kinder and
we were still living in Cainta, Fern Gully... i can't
really recall the whole plot of the film, but i do
remember that the lead characters were a black haired
fairy and a blonde dudester. one of my childhood faves.
HARUMM...
when we reached the cave, we descended a long set of
stairs... i had a punishingly tight death grip on my elder
sister because i was afraid of toppling over and falling
into the dank crypt. the thought: FEAR OF HEIGHTS, FEAR OF
HEIGHTS kept flashing in my mind... and: no more gg...
hehe.
Stairway to Heaven? ehehe... these are the set of stairs
we descended to get to the entrance to the enormous Sagada
cave.
Besides holding onto rocks and boulders, we used other
techniques to navigate through the cave as well. the one
that fascinated me the most was the "SQUASH MISTER PETER
TO GET DOWN 90 DEGREE CLIFFS." i wonder how mr. peter
survived having his thigh being stepped on by my dad...
haruumm...
another technique was the "hold on to a rope and walk
against the wall" technique, which is my least favorite.
there was absolutely NO ledge to cram my toe into, and i
just crept against the wall. somewhere in the middle i
lost my footing, and started laughing. the pit below me,
for all i know, opens into the core of the earth, and i
just guffawed and held on for dear life. my family stood
at the other side, frozen, and mr. peter assisted me the
rest of the way. EHEHE. SCARY.
They call this rock formation the King's Crown or the
Queen's Curtain. ehehe... they probably coined both names
to appease both sexes... pano sa mga bakla? ehehe...
kidding, kidding... BADOINK.
~*~
woohoo... and all of these i did... during my second day
of menstruation. YAHOO... cramps and a soaked pad while
rappeling down ledges and cliffs. grabe, when i got back
to our room, i went to the bathroom pronto, and my napkin
fell off. super nakakatawa... i practically swam in the
cave because there were parts where we were totally
submerged. yeah, MODESS IS DA BEST, i am officially
endorsing it. mwahahaha...
mwahahaha...
mwahahaha...
baliw talaga ako.
nakuuu...
ano na kaya nangyari sa mga chinovela na sinusubaybayan
ko? ohoho... ultimate guilty pleasure. :D
yarg.
my backside's on FIRE.
just an hour ago we arrived here in sagada after a long and bumpy trip from banaue. amazing, the two towns are just approximately 44 kilometers apart, but it took us more than three hours to get here. i guess its because of the more than just a bit rocky paths. we were slugging at 20 kph, dust swirling around us in a violent vortex of terror. i could feel my dad getting real impatient as the trip progressed. he's the type of driver who loves to just zoom down the high way at break neck speed, but the road to sagada just would not permit such reckless abandon.
though the trip was rough, i enjoyed it. the view was nothing short of stupendous, we passed by a dozen more rice terraces, and interesting rock formations. i have a perpetual fear of heights but since i was securely snuggled at the back seat of the van, i wasn't in a state of panic.
when we arrived here in sagada, we went straight to the place we were going to stay in, St. Joseph's Resthouse. After inspecting the less than pleasant lodging quarters (the sleeping area's actually quite nice, it reminds me of snow white and the seven dwarves, but the banyo's just.... UNSPEAKABLY... indescribably... arghh... basta. SIGH. if there's one thing pa naman na sobrang maarte ako, its a nice bathroom; IRONICALLY, i got my period today. so i dunno how i'm supposed to survive. my family actually left me alone here, coz i'm in too much pain to go walking around, carousing towards the unknown), we ate at St. Joe's Cafe which was right in front of our rooms. i had "chicken barbeque" and i almost gagged to death.
so... here i am... trying to find something interesting to do. i have a novel with me, but i'm saving it for more desperate times. i'm just waiting for my family to get back, we'll have dinner somewhere in town... definitely not at St. Joe's... that place isn't fit for humans... OKAY, I. AM. SO. MEAN. but... really!!! gawd.
its really a shame that we didn't land a nice place to stay in for the next two days. the hotel we slept in yesterday in banaue was super duper fine. oh well, sagada IS remote, so there aren't a lot of upscale joints to stay in for tourists. this resthouse is actually full... there are a lot of KOREANS (wink wink myky and andy hehehe) here.... and japanese too. hrmm... maybe i should go outside and speak to the neighbors. mwehehehe...
~*~
With some lady Ifugaos in the Banaue View Deck.
These ladies were super cool because they spoke straight and amazing English. They don't know how to speak in Filipino, coz they've stuck to their own dialect. The view was awesome... no wonder the Rice Terraces (is) the 8th wonder of the world...
i'll be posting some more pictures when we get to baguio, the DSL signal will surely be better there, and i'll be (sana) able to access my blog account faster and upload more images.
:)
haruum... i'm missing my fudge kada.
~*~
belated happy birthday to JOANNA VILLANUEVA! dudette! i'm ever so sorry i wasn't able to call you anymore... argg... will call you when i get back in antipolo, ayt? lovie ya!
we're smack in the middle of summer, and its raining. the air feels chilly, and just as talia said: "parang baguio." nyorks.
i really should be taking a bath right now. we're going to leave for banahaw at 5 am tomorrow, and i'm really not the type to wake up in the wee hours of the day just to splash my self with ice cold water. SIGH.
i miss so many people...
can't wait for the strat planning at richmonde (or is it richmond? wehehe), swimming in the hotel pool and bonding with the council and comheads. yehboi. arggg... hope we finalize all the details soon.
sometimes i feel ever so useless... and this is one of those moments.
SIGH.
not good feeling.
must make self happy.
must eat cloud 9 bar.
~*~
this is NOT good. i'm obsessed with brandon flowers. i'm obsessed with the killers. tsktsktsk... if kaching-kaching finds out he'll die of laughing for sure. dengeet...

==:::A Few Friendly Reminders from your Resident Sane Psycho:::==
life is an unequivocally fast paced string of events, where the essence of a lifetime can be captured in a single breath, love can develop in a second, and where a long journey can feel like just another ride in the metro rail...
so put on your pink tinted glasses, wear your cheesiest smile. life's too short and much too precious to waste with the frivolities of a shallow existence.
let's limbo!
change is the only constant thing in life.
though it is most difficult to cope with change, we must.
it is survival. it is evolution.
but then again,
what if this change is brought about by paranormal sensations and emotions, unforeseen circumstances, hormonal imbalances, and... the weather?
what if this change is caused by things that are not things. forces that are immaterial?
how do we cope?
how do we end the relentless and crazed see-saw of intense emotions churning deep within us?
how do we stop misery?
how do we prolong happiness?
with a four millimeter bullet?
with a cup of peppermint-tasting cyanide?
with prayer?
i don't know.
i can't even begin to pretend to know, or to comprehend.
and i'm sure,
neither can you.
and it scares me.
it scares us.
that this we cannot understand.
everything else --science, mathematics, ratios, proportions, wars, peace talks, chocolate sprinkles and gum drops, ponies and rabbits, Nobel awards-- we know.
but this,
this simple shift of light and darkness,
this slight distinction,
this sudden rearranging of matter, molecules, and sensations.
this indescribable phenomena.
this we cannot even begin to grasp.
illogical, senseless, strange, odd.
fleeting, momentous, gargantuan, colossal.
what is the meaning behind this change in mood? in feeling?
what is the real root? the common cause?
perhaps we have been doomed to be this way.
to not understand.
to be left in the dark.
doomed to be able to adapt with everything else but this simple swing.
this simplistic issue.
never to find a way to evolve around it.
but perhaps.... in this case,
evolution is not survival.
for if you can just grin and bear it.
take it for what it is.
let go of the logic behind it.
perhaps then, survival is possible.
change is not imperative.
accepting is a prerogative, the answer, the key.
